We’re back for Leg 2! šŸŽ‰

After 6 weeks enjoying summer at home we landed back in Quito ready to get stuck into the rest of the Pan American Highway…

and it’s time for our September Pan American Highway budget round-up!

We knew this month was going to expensive, we had flights back out to Yoti, travel insurance to renew, Honduras Visas to pay for and little did we know Yoti was going to surprise us with an expensive bill straight away!

Once we landed, we headed straight for the car, here we found out the boot locking mechanism had broken. This meant we couldn’t drive without rachet strapping the door closed… not ideal!

However, once that was fixed and Yoti got a suspension upgrade thanks to Ironman 4×4 we didn’t hold back on the adventure. We explored the Amazon in Ecuador, drove sketchy bridges, found the Andean Bear and then crossed into Colombia. Our sixth country of the trip!

Below we share how much it’s cost us.

šŸ›°ļø Starlink Mini: $140 (Get one month free!)

šŸ’° Tolls: $49

šŸ³ Cooking Gas: $30

šŸš™ Peru SOAT Insurance: $102

Tip: We use Revolut to keep transaction costs low abroad and AMEX to book flights (we’re slowly building back up our air miles after spending them on our flight to Santiago.)

We also spent $58 on our Honduras Visas and $909 on Travel Insurance plus our flights back to Ecuador.

Thanks for having a nose into how much we spend as we take on this epic expedition. If you’d life to support us we’ve set up a place where you can help fill Yoti’s tank!

Until next time, from somewhere along the Pan American Highway,

K & M
