About Us
We’re Kate and Mike, we packed our jobs in and traded them for life on the road. From converting an old DHL van into our home-on-wheels to exploring Sri Lanka in a tuk tuk, we’ve learned that the best adventures happen when you take the long way round.
Now, our biggest journey yet is underway: driving northbound up the Pan American Highway – from Ushuaia to Alaska. Along the way, we’re building the Pan Am Explorer, the ultimate travel companion for anyone dreaming of the world’s greatest road trip.
Our goal? To make the most useful Pan-American Highway app out there – packed with insider tips, real experiences, and a community of travellers.

Pan Am Explorer is a travel app built specifically for the Pan American Highway. With a pinned map sharing highlights, real-life tips in a handbook, a track your trip feature where you can share stats with family and friends and a find other travellers option to build community on the road.

This app is built by Pan-Am travellers, for Pan-Am travellers. It’s more than just directions – it’s curated highlights, insider tips, and a constantly updated guide that adapts when rules, road conditions, or situations change.
Do I need to be driving the whole Pan American Highway to use it?
Not at all! Whether you’re planning a full Alaska-to-Argentina expedition or just dipping into one country, the app helps you find the best spots, advice and helps you meet other likeminded people.
Can I connect with other travellers through the app?
Yes – one of the most exciting features is the ability to see and connect with other explorers on the route, share tips, and be part of a community of adventurers.
