House of Lechon: Best Place To Eat in Cebu City, Acacia Street
We were recommended House of Lechon by our first taxi driver in Cebu City. We had just landed and were thrown into the manic traffic, bird-nest wires and colourful life of the island. Shamefully our first night we ended in McDonalds, my luggage has just been lost and we were staying in a 1star hostel. The next day we decided we need to do as the locals do so we headed off to find Lechon. Trust me this is much better than McDonalds! We also recommend hiring a driver for the day if you want to explore the city.

You can find the restaurant opposite the Ayala Mall. You will need to walk down the street (Acacia St, Cebu City, 6000 Cebu) around 200m and on your left you will see the car park for the restaurant this is also the entrance. Walk down to the door and you will be greeted by friendly servers. You can also get a taxi or a grab to go straight to the door. The server will show you to your seat (be sure to get a good look at the Lechon as you walk past) and give you a menu. They will take your order at your table.
We were early for the lunch hour around 11:45 and got a table immediately when we left there was a large queue outside the restaurant.

What To Order At House Of Lechon?
You're going for Lechon so that is what we recommend even though the menu boasts lots of options. We did try the chorizo but more on that later, firstly back to Lechon. There are two options regular (Carcar) or spicy. We tried regular (in case spicy was HOT) but we wished we ordered one of each to try.
Your Lechon will be served in special pig’s head shaped plates with a dipping sauce (Lechon drippings). On top of the Lechon is crispy roasted skin (crackling) which for me was the highlight of the meal. We ordered 1/2kg portion for two people, and this was perfect as it filled us up enough to skip dinner. We also went with two garlic rice. This was EXTREMELY garlicky and in hindsight we would order plain next time. Only order garlic rice if you love and I repeat LOVE garlic!
We also wanted to try a second dish and ended up ordering the Chorizo. This tasted nothing like I expected and was very sweet with a squishy texture. We can't recommend this and to be honest I can't even tell you what was in it but what I can say is if you go here, order the Lechon.
Drinks at House of Lechon
You can order fresh fruit smoothies including mango and coconut. You can also get fresh coconuts to drink out of. Of course, they also serve an array of soft drinks and coffees.
